Two new posters for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's The Adventures of Tintin

Is it me or has there been a startling lack of buzz surrounding The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn? I mean, this is the same film that has Steven Spielberg working closely with Peter Jackson. Could it have a better pedigree? And that's without throwing in Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish as writers. This should be the most anticipated film of the year, and yet we hardly hear a peep about it. Maybe part of the reason is the lack of information we've received. There've been some cool images of how the CG animated film would look, and they look like a spot on representation of the classic Georges Remi comics.

Fortunately Empire and AICN are here give us another glimpse of the film in the form of the first international and domestic teaser posters. If it accomplishes anything it makes a pretty clear case for how globe trotting Tintin's adventure will be. The other thing I think is readily apparent from this image and the shots we've seen before is that Tintin should not be confused with the animated efforts of Robert Zemeckis, who never quite perfected his "performance capture" style used in movies like A Christmas Carol and Beowulf. There's more of a cartoony vibe that comes through, which I think is a very good thing. The international one-sheet is above, and the domestic you can peep below. By the way I'm seriously digging the darker, more mysterious American version.

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn features the voicework of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Cary Elwes, and Toby Jones! Look for it to hit our shores on December 23rd! Look out for a trailer to hit some time tomorrow.
