I don't like to draw thin comparisons between two movies just because they share one common trait, but I have to say that Darren Lynn Bousman's new horror, 11-11-11 just looks like The Number 23 in Barcelona. So he threw in what looks like some religious zealotry and the possibility of the Devil showing up, but basically it's still about a guy who keeps seeing those three numbers everywhere he goes. He should just play the lotto and move on. Bousman directed Saw II, the only one of the bunch that appeared to have a story behind it, but ever since he hasn't done much worth discussing. I'm still hoping we get to see his thriller, Mother's Day, before I get too old to care. Check out the new trailer for 11-11-11 below..
The plan is for the film to release, you guessed it, on November 11th 2011. We'll see if that actually happens because there's no stateside distribution yet.
PLOT
After the tragic death of his wife and child, famed American author Joseph Crone travels from the United States to Barcelona, Spain to reunite with his estranged brother Samuel and dying father, Richard. However, fate has a different plan for Joseph as his life becomes plagued with strange happenings, and the constant sightings of the number 11. Curiosity quickly turns to obsession, and Joseph soon realizes that this number holds a horrific meaning not only to himself but possibly to all of religion. Isolated in a foreign country with only the support of his companion, Sadie, Joseph soon realizes that 11/11/11 is more than just a date, it’s a WARNING!
