Trailer Time: Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked

I don't blame Fox for making another Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. How can I? Despite the first two being so awful they made me want to wedge an actual chipmunk into my brain, the fact is the first one raked in over $360M worldwide, and the Squeakquel did even better. So here we are a little over a year later and Fox has released a pleasantly brief teaser trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chip-wrecked. Can you guess what the plot is? Think Gilligan's Island, only much more annoying....

Mike Mitchell, who last directed the excellent Shrek Forever After, is on board, and it looks like Jason Lee is returning as poor, tortured Dave Seville. Alvin and Chipmunks: Chip-wrecked will set sail on December 16th. God they're cranking these things out fast!

PLOT
The vacationing Chipmunks and Chipettes are turning a luxury cruise liner into their personal playground, until they become ‘chipwrecked’ on a remote island. As the ‘Munks and Chipettes try various schemes to find their way home, they accidentally discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems.
