Horrible Bosses writers to pen Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Believe it or not I still haven't sat down and watch all of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Despite the raves of many of my pals, it just never seemed all that appealing to me, watching giant pancakes fall from the heavens and stuff. Audiences loved it, though, to the tune of well over $240M worldwide, and basically launching the careers of directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. While they've now moved on to helming the 21 Jump Street remake, there's still the little matter of a Meatballs sequel, which nobody should be surprised is already in the works.

24 Frames notes that Miller and Lord won't be returning to direct, with plans to bring in somebody who helped in a smaller capacity on the first film. That means somebody we've never heard of, which is fine since most never knew Miller and Lord three years ago. The most interesting thing is who will be writing it, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who just wrote the very R-rated comedy, Horrible Bosses.

The duo will be expected to come up with their own story this time around, rather than utilizing Ron and Judi Barrett's sequel novelization. I was surprisingly pleased by how good Horrible Bosses was, but children's movies are a whole different ballpark.
