Sure Shots: Christopher Nolan; Animal Farm; Matthew Fox and Ed Harris won't be in World War Z

* Christopher Nolan is taking all that clout(and money) he's earned over the years and turned his attention towards producing. He'll be overseeing Zack Snyder's Man of Steel later in the year, and now he's also picked up the rights to an unknown book to be adapted for the big screen. Keith Gordon(The Singing Detective, Waking the Dead) will direct what is being described as a supernatural thriller. [Deadline]

* Andy Serkis, who has taken the art of performance capture to a new level as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and the upcoming Rise of the Planet of the Apes, has discussed the possibility of using the technique in an adaptation of Animal Farm. George Orwell's controversial 1945 book features farm animals revolting against their human master in an allegory of Joseph Stalin's rise to power. Apes director Rupert Wyatt would apparently be involved in some way if it ever happens. [Empire]

* Marc Forster's gigantic zombie war film, World War Z, just lost two of it's biggest names. Vulture reports that Matthew Fox and Ed Harris won't star opposite Brad Pitt afterall. Fox had some scheduling difficulties since he'll be starring in I, Alex Cross with Tyler Perry. Discussions appear to have simply broken down for Harris. Both were said to be in talks just a couple of weeks ago.
