Trailer Time: Arrietty, written by Hayao Miyazaki

Quick, name the highest grossing film by anime legend Hayao Miyazaki? If you said Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke, you're dead wrong. Those are probably his most recognized and well regarded films, but in terms of actual dollars, he made the most impact here with Ponyo, which came out just a couple of years ago. Now he and his Studio Ghibli, which at one time looked like it would be shutting it's doors, are back with their latest, Arrietty(aka Arrietty the Borrower).

Based on Mary Norton's book, The Borrowers, the film follows a family of tiny people(about 10cm tall) who live in the homes of regular sized folks and take things to survive. Miyazaki co-wrote the script, with longtime collaborator Hiromasa Yonebayashi making his directorial debut.

A new trailer has been released for the film's UK release, and it looks like another potential Miyazaki classic. Although the Borrowers remind me a lot of the Saturday morning cartoon, The Littles. It'll release here next year on February 12th, featuring the voices of Amy Poehler, her husband Will Arnett, Carol Burnett, and Bridgit Mendler.[Twitch via ThePlaylist]
