Morgan Freeman in talks to play ex-illusionist in Now You See Me

Can it get any better? Louis Leterrier's upcoming heist film, Now You See Me, won me over the moment I heard what it was about. A specialized squad of FBI agents in a game of  cat and mouse against a team of the world's greatest illusionists who use their skills to commit daring bank heists, then dishing the profits out to the audience. It's a twist on the usual heist genre we haven't seen in a long time. Kindof like The Prestige meets Robin Hood.

Leterrier, along with writers Boaz Yakin(Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) and Edward Ricourt, have taken this awesome concept fleshed it out with some terrific casting choices: Jesse Eisenberg, Melanie Laurent(Beginners), Amanda Seyfried, and Mark Ruffalo are on board. And now it just got a little bit better, as God himself, Morgan Freeman, is in talks to join up.

Variety says Freeman is set to play a controversial ex-magician named Thaddeus, who exposes the secrets of his peers. This makes him a pariah in the community, and a possible target for both the FBI and the other illusionists. Morgan Freeman is another of those untouchable actors, beloved no matter what crap he adds to his resume. He'll be featured in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises next year, but will be seen next in the paycheck family film, Dolphin Tale.
