The Reaping takes place in new look at The Hunger Games

If it looks like the people in this image are being herded to the slaughter, then you're not that far off. The shot is of Liam Hemsworth in the role of Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games, and what you're seeing is what's called The Reaping. That's when all of the residents of each District are rounded up to have their children's names drawn in a lottery to determine who will participate in the annual bloodbath. It's at not long after this that Gale is entrusted with a sacred duty by the woman he loves, Katniss Everdeen(Jennifer Lawrence). Whether or not he lives up to that promise....eh, you'll have to wait a few movies to find out. 

The Hunger Games is currently shooting right now, due to be released on March 23rd 2012.
