New poster for My Week with Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams

Moviefone has unveiled the first poster for My Week With Marilyn, starring Michelle Williams in what will likely be her most scrutinized role to date as Marilyn Monroe. We all know how good of an actress Williams is, but playing a legendary figure like Monroe guarantees she's going to catch some flack. It's impossible to match the sort of presence Monroe had, so the best thing Williams can do is just make the character her own. Do it in her own way.  As for the poster, I love the blue in contrast to the muted background, really showing how Monroe always stood out from the pack.

The film is based on the two memoirs by Colin Clark, who spent time with Monroe as her assistant while on the tumultuous set of 1957's The Prince and the Showgirl. Eddie Redmayne(The Yellow Handkerchief) will play Clark, with Dominic Cooper, Kenneth Branagh, Dougray Scott, Julia Ormond, and Judi Dench co-starring. Simon Curtis directed, based on a script by Adrian Hodges. It'll open in theaters on November 4th.
