Rosamund Pike snags female lead opposite Tom Cruise in One-Shot

Just two days ago we learned that three actresses were looking to tower over Tom Cruise in his upcoming action flick, One-Shot. Those were Hayley Atwell(Captain America: The First Avenger), Alexa Davalos(The Mist), and Rosamund Pike(An Education). Well it didn't take long to find a winner of this race, as Deadline reports Pike has landed the key role.


Based on the ninth novel in Lee Childs' Jack Reacher series, Cruise will play the towering ex-military man who gets caught up in a mystery involving a sniper who suddenly kills five people at random. Pike will play Helen Rodin, a hard nosed lawyer defending the accused killer.

Cruise's buddy Christopher McQuarrie(Valkyrie, The Usual Suspects) is writing and directing, with production set to begin next month. One-Shot is set to hit theaters on February 2013.
