Sure Shots: Natasha Lyonne; Mark Steven Johnson; Gravity, J. Edgar get release dates

* After being away for awhile, Natasha Lyonne has found herself smack in the middle of two high profile comedy projects. She's set to relive the good ol' American Pie days as part of the upcoming American Reunion. And now Variety reports she's joined the cast of Imogene, which has Kristen Wiig starring as a woman who fakes her own death to win back an ex-boyfriend, but only winds up being forced to live at home with her gambling addict mother. Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini(American Splendor) are directing, with Annette Bening and Darren Criss are co-starring.

* Mark Steven Johnson(Ghost Rider, Daredevil) is set to direct one of the stupidest sounding movies I've heard of all year. He'll helm Autobahn, about an F-1 racer who wakes up suddenly in a BMW on the titular German fastlane and learns he has 90 minutes to deliver a bomb or else his family gets killed. So, let's start taking bets now on who'll star. Jason Statham? Nic Cage? [THR]

* 2010 was the year of Gravity when it came to entertainment news. My fingers are still aching from all the casting turmoil for Alfonso Cuaron's(Children of Men) sci-fi epic about a woman(Sandra Bullock) trying to get home after being stranded on a destroyed space station. With all that in the rear view now, Warner Brothers clearly has a lot of faith in the film, tagging it with a November 21st 2012 release date. Right in the heart of awards season. Speaking of Oscar bait, WB has also slated Clint Eastwood's star-studded J. Edgar for release in just a few months on November 9th. Expect the studio to put a big chunk of cash on a marketing push for this one in the coming weeks. J. Edgar stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas, Naomi Watts, Judi Dench, and Ed Westwick.
