Trailer Time: Hysteria, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Hugh Dancy

Plugging up one of the holes at TIFF next month will be Hysteria, a period piece comedy about the invention of the vibrator. I'm serious. Sounds silly, I know, but maybe the cast will get you excited for it? Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Felicity Jones, Jonathan Pryce, and Rupert Everett star in the electric story of two doctors who use what now know to be masturbation as a cure for pretty much anything women may suffer from. Back in the 19th century, the technique of pelvic massage was used to cure "hysteria"(which meant anything from irritability to insomnia), with orgasm being the ultimate goal. Again, I'm serious. Doesn't sound like the setup for a very funny movie, does it? Pryce and Dancy play the two inventors, with Gyllenhaal as Pryce's daughter.  Tanya Wexler(Finding North) is directing.

A new trailer has been released, which you can check out below.[ThePlaylist]
