did anything for Guillermo Del Toro it gave him the ability to shepherd his mantle as horror king without ever having to direct another film of the genre. All he has to do is put his stamp of approval on a film, such as The Orphanage
, and "voila"!!, instant credibility. Another movie he's granted good enough to bear his name is the Spanish thriller, Julia's Eyes. Guillem Morales directed, with Del Toro on board as producer. The story centers around twin sisters, Julia and Sara, both suffering from a degenerative eye disorder which will leave them blind. When Sara commits suicide after being tormented by an unknown stranger, Julia is forced to confront her own impending blindness and find a way to avoid the same fate as her sister.
IFC Midnight has released the English language trailer for the film, due to hit VOD tomorrow, August 24th. Check it out below!
