Trailer Time: Queens of Country, starring Lizzy Caplan and Ron Livingston

Somebody somewhere has suddenly made it cool to make movies centered on country music again. I'd like to have a word with whoever that was. The results so far have been pretty mixed. Crazy Heart was solid, although Jeff Bridges' performance and the music by T-Bone Burnett hold it together. Country Strong was laughably terrible, with telenovella quality theatrics and a lousy soundtrack. So what's next on the menu? A little down home country comedy with Lizzy Caplan(Party Down) starring in Queens of Country.

Caplan stars as Jolene Gillis, a woman who finds an IPOD full of songs from her favorite ladies of country music: Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and others. She's determined to find the IPOD's owner, figuring that whoever it belongs to must be her soul mate. This doesn't make her boyfriend(Ron Livingston) too happy, and he takes active steps to do something about it.   Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke directed. Joe Lo Truglio(Paul) and James Maynard Keenan(Tool frontman) make some....interesting co-starring turns.

No release date for this one yet, but you can check out the first trailer for it below. [TheFilmStage]
