Trailer Time: We Need to Talk About Kevin, starring Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly

After busting into the spotlight with her award winning debut, Ratcatcher, Lynne Ramsay, she followed it up a few years later with the critically acclaimed but little seen Morvern Callar, which featured an epic performance by Samantha Morton. Then it was basically nothing from Ramsay, as she spent years trying to adapt Alice Sebold's novel, The Lovely Bones, until Peter Jackson took over and put out a piece of special effects heavy crap devoid of emotion.

Now Ramsay's back with her new film, We Need To Talk About Kevin, and for critics it's almost like she never left. An adaptation of Lionel Shriver's novel, the story covers a mom's attempt to deal with the fact that her son committed a Virginia Tech style massacre at his high school. Judging by this first French teaser for the film, Swinton looks to be in line for some pretty high praise herself. That won't surprise anybody. Ezra Miller(City Island) plays Kevin, who we see as a kid growing up, and John C. Reilly plays his father...

The film will open here early in December, which will likely put Swinton right into the thick of the Best Actress nominations. But what about Ramsay? Could there be a Best Director nom in her future?
