Filming on The Hunger Games wrapped up only a few days ago, and already we're hearing about one of it's biggest cast members jumping from that youthful adaptation into an action flick with a bunch of old fogeys. Ofcourse that film is The Expendables 2, and while Sylvester Stallone and the rest of the geriatrics appear to be returning(except for Jet Li maybe), they're in dire need of some fresh blood. Enter Liam Hemsworth.
Variety reports that the younger bro of Chris "Thor" Hemsworth has joined the film in an unspecified role. Stallone recently stated that the film needed something of a youth movement, and the 21 year old actor certainly qualifies. Hemsworth is a decent fallback plan to Taylor Lautner, who was also being pursued for a role awhile back. Not that it had any chance of happening.
Hemsworth will join other new additions(not New Edition) to the cast, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme, while Nicolas Cage remains a likely candidate. The same goes for Asian martial arts superstar, Donnie Yen(Ip Man). John Travolta is also in the running but looks like a long shot.
