If you needed more proof that The Expendables 2 will be less about big guns and more about swift roundhouse kicks, you need look no further than the confirmed presence of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. Not to mention the hopeful signing of Donnie Yen. How that'll jibe with the withered bones of guys like Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture, and Dolph Lundgren I'll never know. Jason Statham should be right at home, and Terry Crews is basically just muscled comic relief.
Fresh off the news that Liam Hemsworth(The Hunger Games) will be part of the film's supposed youth movement, comes word that another relative youngster has joined the ranks. Scott Adkins, who some will recognize from the Undisputed trilogy of brawler flicks, will play Jean-Claude Van Damme's henchman in the film. At only 35 years old, Adkins is like a pup compared to everybody else. He recently worked alongside JCVD in the straight-to-DVD shooter, Assassination Games. He also played that really crappy version of Deadpool in X-men Origins: Wolverine, at least when Ryan Reynolds was off polishing his abs or something.
The Expendables 2 looks to roll out on August 17th 2012. [Moviehole]
