Anthony LaPaglia to play Joseph Gordon-Levitt's brother in Django Unchained
We haven't seen much of Anthony LaPaglia on the big screen lately, with him spending the bulk of the last few years in the CBS series, Without a Trace. In fact I don't think I've seen him in anything since Winter Solstice back in 2005, although I've heard extremely good things about the controversial film, Balibo, which will probably never land on American shores anyway. That's ok, because LaPaglia has just signed on for a small role in a film that's guaranteed to make waves here and everywhere else, joining Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.
Deadline has the news, stating that LaPaglia will play one of a greedy group of Australians escorting a group of recently purchased slaves. There they'll encounter freed slave turned bounty hunter, Django(Jamie Foxx), and I'm assuming things don't go well. He and the recently signed Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play "mean brothers" in the film, with one more brother yet to be cast. Just how big the parts are is unclear, but I speculated last week that certain roles might get bigger with Tarantino doing a rewrite. These seem like prime candidates for that.
Django Unchained is set to hit theaters Christmas Day 2012!
