Philip Noyce to direct relationship thriller, The Arrangement
As much as I like Antoine Fuqua, part of me was a little disappointed when he got the job directing Hunter Killer over Philip Noyce. After directing some great films like Clear and Present Danger, Rabbit-Proof Fence, and Dead Calm, Noyce made a big comeback last year with the Angelina Jolie spy flick, Salt. So I wanted to see what he could do if he stayed in the espionage realm. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be.
That doesn't mean Noyce is slowing down or anything. He's just switching gears, recently adding the sci-fi romance, Timeless(starring Liam Hemsworth) to his upcoming slate. And now you can add one more as well, as THR reports Noyce has signed to direct The Arrangement, which sounds like a racially tinged version of Indecent Proposal.
Written by Brian Tucker(Broken City), the film centers on a married couple consisting of a white man and mixed race woman, who are approached by a wealthy black man with a lucrative offer to spend three days alone with the woman. How much you want to bet Beyonce stars in this? With Idris Elba as the wealthy dude? I'm getting quite the Obsessed vibe off this one.
This one will probably shoot some time after Timeless completes, so it's still a ways off. On a side note, if you haven't had a chance to catch Noyce's underrated apartheid flick, Catch a Fire, it's worth throwing into your Netflix queue.
