New Chronicles of Riddick sequel back on track

I'm sure there are practically dozens of fans out there who've been clamoring for a third film in the Chronicles of Riddick series. Those folks have posters of Vin Diesel as  XXX on their bedroom walls, and brush their teeth using limited edition Babylon AD toothpaste. They were no doubt distraught when news broke last month that Diesel's production company, One Race Films, had failed to pay the studio where The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking(the rumored title) was being shot and that production had come to a halt. Considering it's mainly being self-financed, money troubles like this are an immediate red flag.

TMZ, who seem to have an uncharacteristic interest in the film, have reported that all dues have been met and that production will resume on December 28th. The long overdue bills that caused the shut down have been met, including back payment to all members of the crew who had been going without a paycheck. Still, this has to be a concern. If Diesel and his partner David Twohy are running into issues like this so early, then it's a big question whether the film will ever see the light of day.

So far we know that Diesel will be reprising his role as convict/bounty hunter Riddick. Karl Urban has been rumored to be returning, with offers sent out to Dave Bautista, Katee Sackhoff, and Bokeem Woodbine. The hard 'R' rated sci-fi flick is planned for release some time next year.
