Trailer Time: Wanderlust, starring Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston
The first time Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd starred together it was way back in 1998, and it's fair to say neither was quite the cinematic heavyweights they would turn out to be. The film was The Object of My Affection, a decent flick about a woman who falls in love with her gay best friend. It wasn't great by any means, but Rudd and Aniston were great together, and in his case I think it's the first film that solidified him as a viable leading man. Well the two are back together again in Wanderlust, from Rudd's Role Models director, David Wain.
Produced by Judd Apatow and featuring a script by Wain and Ken Marino(Party Down), Rudd and Aniston star as a married couple who grow tired of their fast paced NYC life and set out for a change of pace. The only problem is they get stranded in a hippie commune filled with nudists, drugs, and other temptations. Like Malin Akerman. Malin Akerman's a hell of a drug. Justin Theroux, Lauren Ambrose(yay!!!), Ray Liotta, Joe Lo Truglio, and the suddenly very busy Alan Alda make up the rest of the cast. To be honest it didn't make me laugh all that much, and I've seen enough of Paul Rudd and hippies after this summer's Our Idiot Brother. Maybe the inevitable red band trailer will be funnier.
Wanderlust opens on my birthday, February 24th 2012. Check out the trailer below...
