Jeanine Serralles joins the Coen Brothers' folk music film, 'Inside Llewyn Davis'

For their upcoming folk music film, 'Inside Llewyn Davis', The Coen Brothers have been reaching out to talents with a dual ability to act their butts off and hold a tune. Oscar Isacc, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, and Justin Timberlake are on board, and now the latest addition is stage actress Jeanine Serralles, with the possibility of F. Murray Abraham joining as well. Serralles had a small role in the vastly underrated Two Lovers just a couple of years ago, while the classically trained Abraham is still probably best known for starring in Amadeus way back in 1984.

Set during the Greenwich Village folk music scene of the 1960s, the film is described as being about the titular musician(Isaac), who can't seem to make ends meet despite his popularity. Davis is said to be based in part on Dave van Ronk, a close associate to Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and other heavyweights of the genre. Serralles' role is unclear at this point.

I'm curious to see how this will play out, as the Coens' have described the tone as being in the vein of a Noah Baumbach film, and would feature live, single-instrument music.  [Variety]
