Trailer Time: Case De Mi Padre, starring Will Ferrell and Gael Garcia Bernal

You might recall that a much more extensive trailer for Will Ferrell's Spanish language comedy, Casa De Mi Padre, came out like 8 months ago. At the time we didn't really know what to make of it, except it featured the comedian in what looked basically like one of those exaggerated Spanish telenovellas you see on Univision™. Now a shorter, equally silly looking teaser has been released and frankly I have no idea how they are going to sell this thing.

Despite the heroic looking send-up, Armando(Ferrell) is a failing ranch owner about to lose the place passed down by his father. When Raul(Gael Garcia Bernal), Armando's younger and more successful brother, shows up and clears up all debts, the troubles appear to be over. That is until Armando falls in love with Raul's fianee, Sonia(Genesis Rodriguez), and Raul's business dealings turn out to be a little on the shady side.

The film is almost entirely in Spanish, and considering American audiences tend to greet subtitles with the same excitement as genital warts, it'll be interesting to see how this film does. Ferrell's name guarantees a certain following, though. So this will make for quite the experiment.  The film is directed by former SNL writer Matt Piedmont.

Case De Mi Padre opens on March 16th. Check out the trailer below...
