Trailer Time: What to Expect When You're Expecting, starring Elizabeth Banks and Jennifer Lopez

Out of all the dreadful, soul crushing "stories" in Garry Marshall's New Year's Eve, the worst by far was of two insipid couples(Jessica Biel and Seth Meyers make up one) trying to force the birth of their child so it can be the first birth of the new year, all so they can win a friggin' contest. It's a woefully misguided and unfunny thread, the kind that makes you want to turn the new parents in to Child Protective Services more than anything else. As bad as it was, at least it was only a small part of the film. I could stick my fingers in my ears and pretend it wasn't there, safe in the knowledge that I'd be groaning over something else in just a few moments.

But here we are now with What To Expect When You're Expecting, and there is no escape. How do you take an instructional guide for soon-to-be parents and turn it into a feature film? Simple, you use the Valentine's Day model, stuff it with bored looking movie stars, give everyone an easy cliched storyline and hope enough women can convince their boyfriends to suffer through it.  Kirk Jones(Nanny McPhee) is directing this 2 hour birth control ad, with a cast that includes Elizabeth Banks, Chris Rock, Anna Kendrick, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Lopez, Rodrigo Santoro, Topher Grace, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Cameron Diaz, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The first trailer has been released ahead of the film's May 11th opening date, which you can check out below....
