Benedict Cumberbatch looks to be the villain in 'Star Trek 2'
Yes! There'll be infinitely more opportunities to say 'Benedict Cumbetbatch' in the immediate future. Try it, it's fun. 'Cumberbatch'. The Brit actor who has taken off like a rocket sled over the last few months has just landed once of the most talked about roles in Hollywood, that of the villain in JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel.
Deadline initially broke the news that the Sherlock and War Horse star had landed the gig, but were unclear as to it's nature. Variety, however, says that it's the role Edgar Ramirez had been circling, which was that of the baddie. Can we put to rest all the Khan chatter now? Cumberbatch is no more Khan than I am the Queen of Sheba. So hopefully this means it'll be an all new nemesis for Captain Kirk(Chris Pine) and the rest of Starfleet to take on.
With Peter Weller, Alice Eve, and Noel Clarke the other new faces coming aboard, this is looking like one hell of a cast Abrams is putting together. Star Trek 2 is expected to hit on May 17th 2013.
