New look at Noomi Rapace in 'Prometheus'

It's always interesting to see how the ethnic stars of globally successful films are treated when they make their eventual move into Hollywood. For the most part, they get treated like the old WCW wrestlers when Vince McMahon bought their company. Ok, that's a pretty specific example reserved for fans of sports entertainment, but basically it means they aren't treated all that well. Anil Kapoor from Slumdog Millionaire? Reduced to minor supporting roles, usually playing a villain or something. The same for Dev Patel. The same can be said of Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace from the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, who began their Hollywood careers with thankless roles in Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows respectively.

Rapace looks to have the best chance of cracking the mold, though. Amongst an impressive cast of heavy hitters, she's truly been the face of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, his long awaited "prequel" to Alien. She plays Elizabeth Shaw, an archaeologist stranded on a distant world, seeking the answers to some of humanity's biggest questions.

USA Today have revealed a new image Rapace in the film, due to hit theaters on June 8th.
