Unbelievable. We've seen and even heard Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin before, in the previous teaser trailer for HBO's Game Change, but that didn't come close to showing us just how completely she has embodied the Alaskan half-term Governor. Jay Roach, pairing up with his Recount screenwriter Danny Strong, have tightened the focus of the controversial political novel the film is based on, dealing almost exclusively with the roller coaster of John McCain's 2008 Presidential campaign.
As we see in the trailer, McCain(Ed Harris) was a desperate candidate looking for a boost at the time he selected the unproven, untested small town Governor to be his running mate. Although she would prove to be just what the red meat craving base wanted, which McCain exploited to his political advantage, Palin would also turn out to be an embarassment and a "rogue" more concerned about her own image. I wish there was more about the Obama side of the equation, but something tells me we can expect another film from Roach and Strong on that subject. Game Change will premier on HBO on March 10th, but you can check out the trailer below....
