'The Amazing Spider-Man' 4-minute Super Preview!

Ever since we learned Sony would be unveiling their big "Super Preview" of The Amazing Spider-Man, I know some who have been hoping it would be last, best chance to make the film feel like a major summer event. Let's be honest, so far Sony has done a terrible job of keeping up the momentum and making Marc Webb's relaunch feel special. It was always going to be tough, considering we're not that far removed from Sam Raimi's films, and now that the preview has been released it kinda feels like Sony's gotten complacent.

That's not to say what has been released is especially bad. It's just a little underwhelming. What have is basically an extended trailer, which kicks off with Spidey(Andrew Garfield) saving a bunch of people from cars dangling from a bridge. It's a pretty cool sequence, but you'd think for the "hook" they'd want to show us Spidey going toe-to-toe with the Lizard(Rhys Ifans) or something. The rest of what we get is basically a mish-mash of stuff we've seen in previous trailers. Again, not bad. Just not much else.

I still think The Amazing Spider-Man will bring the goods come July 3rd, but what if it doesn't perform well?  Marvel President Kevin Feige's words are still hanging in the air regarding properties handled by other studios: “as long as they are making them [with] quality, that will be good."

Yeah, but what if they don't?  Check out the Preview below.....
