Kurt Russell also no longer in 'Django Unchained'

Stuntman Mike!!? Nooooo!! It's going to take a lot of departures to truly hurt the star power of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, but in two days we've learned that two of the biggest players are no longer even in the film.  Yesterday it was Sacha Baron Cohen revealing that he had to drop out due to press commitments for The Dictator. Now today it's Variety and TheFilmStage who confirm that Kurt Russell has also left the set, possibly out of disappointment with his role. What the heck? Didn't these two hit it off during Death Proof?

Add these names to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who left to pursue his directorial debut, and Kevin Costner who departed before filming began. Russell was set to play Ace Woody, the Mandingo trainer and right hand man to the evil Calvin Candie. I guess we'll have to wait and see who will fill that role now.

That still leaves Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Fox, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, Rza, and Don Johnson as just a small part of an impressive cast.  Django Unchained rolls on, set to open on Christmas Day 2012.
