Prepare yourself for 'The Hunger Games' spoof, 'The Starving Games'

It was bound to happen, right? We can't seem to go more than a couple of years without another terrible spoof film from Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg, the guys behind Meet the Spartans, Vampires Suck, and Disaster Movie. Now they're turning their attention to the biggest film of the year in The Hunger Games.

The duo plan to write and direct The Starving Games, and I'd say the simple "humor" in the title gives you an impression of just how smart their films are. As is always the case, the film will parody more than just the stated topic, and will spoof Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, and whatever else managed to be both popular and successful.

It's hard to believe these guys actually got off to a decent start with Spy Hard back in 1996, and then Scary Movie in 2000. Now they're just churning out hack material that features every D-level celeb with a spare hour on their schedule. [Variety]
