With Andrew Dominik's Killing Them Softly(formerly Cogan's Trade) about to premier at Cannes tomorrow, we've finally begun to see more of the highly anticipated crime film. Last week we were treated a rather hilarious clip of Ray Liotta getting roughed up by Slaine and Sam Shepard, and now comes this stylish new poster.
I'm still a little confused about the tone, and this image doesn't really help. Brad Pitt stars as an enforcer investigating the robbery of a high stakes, mob-controlled poker game. What's with the patriotic sunglasses? Is there some aspect of the story that I'm missing? This is a mafia flick and not some Jack Kerouac road trip story, right?
James Gandolfini, Scoot McNairy, Bella Heathcote, and Sam Rockwell co-star in the adaptation of George V. Higgins' novel.
