New poster for The Wachowski's 'Cloud Atlas'

"Everything is connected." It's amazing to listen to the reaction from audiences every time the trailer for Cloud Atlas plays, because it appears to have really struck a chord with people. There's a genuine excitement to see what The Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer can do do next, with the sprawling, new age feel of it drawing obvious comparisons to The Matrix.

But the response to the film out of Toronto has been lukewarm, to say the least. While I haven't seen it yet for myself, the thought of anyone being able to adapt David Mitchell's massive, time-spanning novel just seems far fetched. Hopefully I'm wrong.

A new poster for the film has been issued, which gives us a glimpse at the principle cast which includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Brodadbent, Ben Whishaw, Hugh Grant, James D'arcy, Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, and Bae Doona, all of whom will tackle multiple roles across time and space. Cloud Atlas opens on October 26th.
