New trailer for 'Texas Chainsaw 3D' lacks a sharp edge

After Platinum Dunes wrung every last drop out of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that they could muster, the decision was made to leave their shoddy prequels behind and go in another direction completely. In stepped Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, who took the story of the brutal, skin mask-wearing Leatherface a few decades into the future.

Directed by John Luessenhop(Takers) Texas Chainsaw 3D has Alexandra Daddario(Percy Jackson and the Olympians) as a woman who heads to Texas with her dead meat friends to claim an inheritance left by her grandmother. Instead of finding wads of cash or even grandma's old beat up car, she finds Leatherface looking to get his "cut". Lots of screaming, tumbling down stairs, and the roaring of power tools is sure to follow. The newly released trailer is actually very tame, and hopefully not indicative of what the film has in store.

Trey Songz, Tania Raymonde, and a bunch of folks nobody knows will co-star in Texas Chainsaw  when it opens(in 3D!!!!) on January 4th....
