Rumor: Will we see the Mark XLVII armor in 'Iron Man 3'?

Already we've seen Tony Stark don a number of different armors during the first two Iron Man movies, but since the guy is a futurist at heart, he's always looking ahead to what comes next. During Comic-Con we got a glimpse at the new red and gold armor to be used in Iron Man 3, which allows Tony to call the parts to his body like he was summoning them with the Force. In The Avengers we saw Stark's Mark VII armor get beat to crap by the alien Chitauri, setting up what I assumed would be the Mark VIII, but as it turns out that might've been off by a great deal.

Latino Review has a rumor that contains some pretty serious Iron Man 3 spoilers if they turn out to be true, so consider this a warning if you don't want anything possibly ruined.....

According to the site, The Mandarin(Ben Kingsley) and his nanobot-powered henchman will prove too numerous and powerful for Iron Man to handle by himself. So as he's going out for battle he casually mentions to Pepper Potts(Gwyneth Paltrow) about the Mark XLVII armor. When she asks him what's up with the other forty Iron Man armors, Tony just smiles back at her.

Turns out, the the Mark XLVII would allow Tony to control the other armors via remote, so he basically has an entire army of Iron Men fighting on his side. It's a development that would make some sense, considering Tony just faced a villain who used drones to great success against him. If there's one thing we've seen from the Iron Man movies thus far it's that Tony evolves based on his most recent experiences, and this would be keeping with that.

This should all be taken with a grain of salt for now, but if it's true I love the sound of it. Between this and War Machine possibly being upgraded to the star-spangled Iron Patriot, we're going to have a lot more cool stuff to look at when Iron Man 3 opens on May 3rd 2013.
