1st look at the Wicked Witch in poster for 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

We're still a good five months away from Sam Raimi's gorgeous Oz the Great and Powerful, an imagined prequel to Frank L. Baum's classic The Wizard of Oz. But this being Halloween and all, Disney has decided to get in on the action by releasing the first of three posters, this one appropriately focusing on Evanora, the Wicked Witch of the East.


Played by Rachel Weisz, Evanora and her two sisters Theodora(Mila Kunis) and Glinda(Michelle Williams) are reluctant to believe that ethically-challenged illusionist Oscar Diggs(James Franco) is the savior the magical realm has been waiting for. As lush and vibrant as this image is, there's also a hint of a darker side if you look close, especially in that rather creepy looking tree that looks like it's ready to swallow the witch whole. Hopefully the next two posters will feature a different witch in another part of Oz.
