James Bond reports for duty in 'Skyfall' trailer

There's not a lot of new footage in this latest Skyfall trailer, but considering the enthusiastic response to it from across the pond, I'm going to take every chance to see what it has to offer. The global scope and sense of urgency seem to have been restored thanks to Sam Mendes, who I don't think anyone would have pegged as an obvious choice as director. He recently revealed that he used Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight as an inspiration, which is a pretty good film to draw from....

Mendes: “What Nolan proved was that you can make a huge movie that is thrilling and entertaining and has a lot to say about the world we live in, even if, in the case with The Dark Knight, it’s not even set in our world… That did help give me the confidence to take this movie in directions that, without The Dark Knight, might not have been possible.”

Hopefully Skyfall doesn't have too much of a message. It's never really been the series' strength. Skyfall opens on November 9th....[HeyUGuys/ThePlaylist]
