New trailer for 'Save the Date' starring Lizzy Caplan and Alison Brie
This past Sundance proved to be a big one for Lizzy Caplan, setting her off on a course for super-stardom I think she's long deserved. The Party Down alum hit the festival with two films that audiences and critics loved. The one that received all the attention was the snarky Bachelorette with pals Isla Fisher and Kirsten Dunst. But the other one that received more glowing reviews was the indie romantic comedy, Save the Date.
Despite the warm reception, we haven't seen or heard much from the film since, but now as a VOD release is less than a month away we're getting a new trailer that shows what all the fuss was about. Starring Caplan and Alison Brie(Community), they play a pair of sisters dealing with various commitment issues in the wake of one's disastrous wedding proposal and the other's impending nuptials. It certainly looks like an honest and heartfelt film grounded by strong performances by the impressive cast, which includes Geofferey Arend, Melonie Diaz, Martin Starr and Mark Weber.
Written and directed by Michael Mohan, Save the Date hits VOD on November 8th before opening theatrically December 14th.
