Ryan Gosling dished out a lot of punishment when he teamed up with Nicolas Winding Refn for Drive. He took a lot of it, too, but they look like paper cuts compared to the beating he's going to take in Only God Forgives, at least according to this newly released image.
Courtesy of The Film Stage, the shot apparently comes from the American Film Market where footage from the film was shown. The clip apparently features M83's Sister(Part 2), which may be Refn's go-to electronica source since he also used them in a commercial recently.
Gosling plays Julian, a former cop living in exile in Bangkok after a years-old murder, who along with his brother runs a Thai boxing club which is really just a criminal front for his Florida-based mom's(Kristin Scott Thomas) drug smuggling operation. When his brother is killed by a violent retired cop known named Chang aka the Angel of Vengeance, Julian challenges him to a match as a means of exacting revenge for his family.
There's no release date set, but it's due to wrap up next month and should hit some time in 2013. For a taste of the soundtrack you can check out M83's Sister (Part 2) below.
