Back in July, right around the same time some rather amazing footage debuted at Comic-Con, we also received an image of Matt Damon looking like a bad ass future warrior in Elysium, the next hot button sci-fi film from Neill Blomkamp(District 9). The thought was that we'd start getting a deeper look at the anticipated film after that, possibly including a trailer, but when Sony bumped its release date down to next August, those hopes were dashed.
But we're at least getting another look at Damon in a newly released photo, featuring the actor carrying his rather intimidating Chemrail gun. Starring Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Wagner Moura, Diego Luna, and William Fichtner, the film is set in the future where the rich live in a pristine, disease-free man made space station known as Elysium. The rest of the people live in squalor on Earth and are constantly attempting to migrate, with Damon playing a man who undertakes a mission that may bring some measure of equality.
