Laura Linney in talks to join Bill Condon's Wikileaks film

Laura Linney has been one of my favorite actresses for a long time, so it's been great that she hasn't stopped her big screen work while starring in Showtime's The Big C. The Oscar-nominated actress is one of the best things about the historical drama, Hyde Park on Hudson, and now she may be joining one of the most promising political films of next year.

The Wrap reports Linney is in talks to join Dreamworks' upcoming Wikileaks film, which currently has Benedict Cumberbatch set for the role of Julian Assange. James McAvoy is circling the the part of Daniel Domscheit-Berg, Assange's right-hand man who eventually turned his back on him and wrote one of the two books from which the film is based. Bill Condon, fresh from wrapping up The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, will direct from a script by Josh Singer.

Linney's role is unclear, but she'd clearly be a fantastic addition to a film that's going to have a lot of eyes on it. Production begins early next year in Berlin.
