Four new images from 'Texas Chainsaw 3D'

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies never really appealed to me right from the very beginning, and with each subsequent reboot, relaunch, or sequel that enthusiasm has only waned further. As we turn the corner from awards flicks to straight-up genre fare, Texas Chainsaw 3D is hoping to make the skin mask-wearing Leatherface relevant again. Not sure it can be done, but if this one's going to be a hit January is the month to do it. Let's not forget how a lack of quality films and some clever marketing led to The Devil Inside tricking folks into a $100M box office on the same weekend just last year.

Lionsgate and EW have dropped a handful of new photos from the film, and it looks like Leatherface is looking for a little fun at the carnival. Not even he can resist the allure of cotton candy and old corn dogs. The film stars the lovely Alexandra Daddario(Percy Jackson and the Olympians) as a young woman who heads to Texas to claim an inheritance from a grandmother she never knew, and from there things get loud, sharp, and very nasty. Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, Scott Eastwood, Dan Yeager, and Gunnar Hansen co-star with John Luessenhop(Takers) directing. Texas Chainsaw 3D opens on January 4th.
