'Carrie' remake bumped seven months to October

After a impressive debut trailer and positive buzz from New York Comic-Con, Kimberly Peirce's remake of Carrie seemed like it was poised to be a major horror hit this year. There's every chance it still will be, but it won't be in March as originally planned.

Perhaps to capitalize on the Halloween season, Carrie has bumped all the way down to October 18th. No reason was given for the move, but it's going to face some stiff competition that weekend from The Seventh Son and Luc Besson's action flick, Malavita. But you'd expect a horror film to thrive at that time, and it'll get a head start on Paranormal Activity 5.

In the meantime, you can check out the above piece of fan art, which depicts star Chloe Moretz draped in blood.
