Hugh Jackman to star in Harlan Coben's 'Six Years'
Although Ben Affleck is currently working on a remake, Guillaume Canet's adaptation of Harlan Coben's suspense novel Tell No One remains one of our most successful French imports, appearing on a number of Top 10 list and doing decent business on the art house scene. A multiple best-selling crime novelist more than two dozen titles to his credit, Coben's only seen the one book brought to the big screen. He's about to get one more, though, and a pretty big name is attached to star in it.
Coben's next book, Six Years, hits store shelves today and Paramount is so jazzed for it they've snagged the film rights as a starring vehicle for Hugh Jackman. He'll play Jake Fisher, a man who sees the love of his life marry another man. Six years pass, and when Jake learns that her husband has died, he turns up at the funeral to catch one last glimpse of her, only to discover that the woman he sees isn't her at all.
It's another mystery dealing with memory and our perception of key life moments, a recurring theme in Coben's novels. Jackman still has to film Prisoners and X-men: Days of Future Past, so there's plenty of time for Paramount to seek out a director and screenwriter. [THR]
