Logan's on the hunt in new 'The Wolverine' images

With a teaser for The Wolverine now exactly one week away, followed up by the full version in front of G.I. Joe: Retaliation two days later, Fox is pumping out new photos from the film at a rapid clip. Just yesterday saw the emergence of three images featuring the bloody-clawed feral mutant, and today sees the reveal of even more, but with some actual context.

Producer Hutch Parker told Empire that the snowy pic of Wolverine has him looking for an old friend from his stint in a Nagasaki prison.

Parker: "Effectively Logan saved him and this man is on his deathbed and is looking to give him a gift, to thank him for the life he's had. But this gift draws Logan into a very complex and very unexpected world."

It's possible that this gift could be Logan's Muramasa blade, a symbol of honor and a weapon we've seen him wield in a prior poster.  Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee, The Wolverine opens on July 26th.
