'Scary Movie 5' unveils a new trailer and poster

Didn't we already get Scary Movie 5 this year? Oh wait, that was Marlon Wayans' A Haunted House, which just looked like it and probably beat them to some of the same jokes. Wayans' film actually performed pretty well, which has to have the folks at Dimension Films optimistic. The rest of us...well, if there was any question just how terrible and dated the film would be, a new trailer and poster has been released to remove all doubt.

Written by spoof veteran David Zucker and directed unfortunately by Malcolm Lee (Undercover Brother), its your usual assortment of worn out gags that ceased being funny long before the film was green lit. A parody of Black Swan (how fresh and new!!), the story centers on two ballet dancers and best friends who compete for the lead in a production by a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French company director. To be fair, more recent films like Mama, Ted, and Evil Dead are referenced in uninspiring ways. It's always possible that they're keeping the best jokes out of the trailer so as not to spoil them, but....well, you and I know better.

Starring Ashley Tisdale, Erica Ash, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Mike Tyson, Katt Williams, Kate Walsh, Heather Locklear, Terry Crews, Molly Shannon and many more, Scary Movie 5 haunts your theater on April 12th.
