It's been a big day for writer/director Josh Boone already, having secured Shailene Woodley for the lead in his adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars. Now a new domestic trailer has been released for his debut feature, Stuck in Love, formerly known as Writers.
Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins, Logan Lerman, and Kristen Bell lead a superb ensemble in a film that explores a literary family's romantic entanglements. Kinnear plays a novelist obsessing over his ex-wife (Connelly), even though he's having commitment-free sex with his young neighbor (Bell). Collins is his promiscuous young daughter who is publishing her first book while being pursued by a romantic played by Lerman. The trailer isn't demonstrably different than the international one we received last month, and still has the look of a very generic, superficial art house dramedy.
The film received mixed reviews on the festival circuit, but Boone's sudden success suggests that studios were impressed enough. Stuck in Love hits theaters on June 14th.
