Trailer for 'Burton & Taylor' With Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West

Another Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton biopic so soon after Lindsay Lohan and....whoever her co-star was stunk up the joint in Lifetime's Liz & Dick? One of the first true power couples and Hollywood royalty, a more distinguished class of talent is needed to do their rocky and highly-publicized relationship proper justice, and it looks like the BBC are just the ones to get it right.

BBC Four have released the first trailer for Burton & Taylor, their TV biopic which stars Helena Bonham Carter as Liz Taylor, and Dominic "McNulty" West as Richard Burton. Directed by Richard Laxton (Grow Your Own) and penned by William Ivory (Made In Dagenham), the film narrows its focus to a specific time in their relationship, when they were starring in the troubled Broadway production of Private Lives in 1983. Carter probably isn't the most obvious choice to play Liz, but she fits into the role pretty well judging by this, and West is certainly a better fit for Burton than whoever that was in Lohan's film.

Burton & Taylor hits the BBC airwaves later this year.
