Who Needs Ant-Man When We Have the 'Antboy' Trailer Now?

Marvel may have Ant-Man coming in 2015, but who needs it when we can have Antboy now? This Danish kids' superhero film seems to be following the Spider-Man model of comic book origins, following a 12-year-old boy named Pelle who gets bitten by an ant and gains whatever attributes ants have. Judging from the charming new trailer, which looks like a cross between Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Kick-Ass, those powers include sticking to walls, proportionate ant strength, and acid pee. Try to imagine the last battle in Man of Steel if Kryptonians had acid pee rather than X-Ray vision.

Antboy opens in Denmark this October, and chances are the only way we'll see it here in America is on imported DVD. [BleedingCool]

PLOT: 12-year-old Pelle accidentally gets bitten by an ant and develops unimaginable superpowers. With help from his friend, comic book nerd Wilhelm, Pelle creates a secret identity as the superhero Antboy. Slowly things start to happen in the surburban community, and when a scary and crazy supervillain, Flea, enters the scene, Antboy must step up to the challenge.
