Upbeat U.K. Trailer for 'Lovelace' Starring Amanda Seyfried

We all know Linda Lovelace as woman who helped launch a sexual revolution and bring porn into the mainstream with Deep Throat, but what were the driving forces that drove her into the industry? And what ultimately drove her to shun her past and fight against the industry that made her both famous and infamous? Those are the questions that need answering in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman's biopic, Lovelace, and after a U.S. trailer debuted last week, a new one from across the pond has arrived.

Featuring a more upbeat tone and a style that can only be described as Boogie Nights-esque, the footage gives us another look at Amanda Seyfried in the title role. The story largely encompasses her abusive relationship with Chuck Traynor (Peter Sarsgaard), the man who may or may not have forced her into porn, depending on who you ask. What's not in question is Traynor's reputation as a first class scumbag, and in the film's darker moments we see some of the heinous things he did to her that are public knowledge. But where the film suffers, as stated in my review, is that we don't actually learn much about Lovelace, and there's definitely an attempt to hold others responsible for how her life turned out.

Lovelace opens on August 9th.[Bleeding Cool]
