Our friends at the Angelika Film Center Mosaic in Fairfax always offer a diverse line-up of films, and this week they're offering our readers a chance to attend three movies that couldn't be more different from one another. We have nine pairs of run-of-engagement (ROE) passes to showings of Only God Forgives, Fruitvale Station, and Girl Most Likely, good only at the Angelika Mosaic from July 19th to July 25th.
Winner of the Jury and Audience Dramatic awards at Sundance, Fruitvale Station features a breakout performance by Michael B. Jordan, and tells the heartbreaking story of the final day in the life of Oscar Grant, killed by BART cops on New Year's Day 2009. Only God Forgives is the re-teaming of Drive duo Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn, and is another pulpy, violent film where a man seeks vengeance for his brother's murder. Girl Most Likely is the passion project of Kristen Wiig, and has her starring alongside Annette Bening in the story of a once-famous playwright who is put in the care of her gambling addict mother after staging an elaborate fake suicide to win back her boyfriend.
